The atomic heart of a Soviet robot

Review of the lore of the game Atomic Heart: alternative history of the USSR, robots, space and two endings.

The atomic heart of a Soviet robot

The Soviet Union is ballet, rockets, space
Go into space
create a communist society,
conquer all of humanity.

Only an exceptionally talented person with clear ideas, ideals and beliefs can create a Collective 0.1, 1.0 or 2.0.
He will definitely succeed, but what will happen to his creation next? How it will be used and whether it will be used at all - this question is no less important and the answer to it is even more interesting.

The game changes the flow of time by adding a number of exceptions to it.
"Brown Plague" defeated. That same War in the usual sense did not happen; the USSR and Germany united into a single government. Soviet scientists work hand in hand with scientists from Germany [Michael Stockhausen]. Create wonderful robots that help people.
All this with a generous dose of irony and visual jokes on the part of the game designers, but still.

Scientific complexes and laboratories are preparing for the conquest of space, growing special plants that can be used to populate the entire Mars in order to create conditions suitable for the life of Soviet astronauts.

China also joined the great Collective.

The only question remains.

The question of the conquest of America

How will we conquer?

1) Peaceful atom - our robots simplify your life so much that you will buy the first ones yourself, and then we will supply more and more as humanitarian missions. The American comrades will understand that they have lost, and humanity will merge into a single stream of “Thought.”

2) Apocalypse - for those who do not want to accept the new world order, Soviet robots provide functions of violent coercion and a combat mode to turn those who disagree into mincemeat.

Well, then there are a number of reservations, which are still a construction of the fictional world of the game.

The USSR government resigns
Collective 2.0 will not be subordinate to the Politburo, and all control connectors will belong to only one person, the one who created the Collective. Whether he destroys them or leaves control depends only on him.

The game has two endings.

In the first, we help the wizard, who is also the creator of the Collective and he takes over the world (exactly how and whether the combat mode is used is unknown, but otherwise it doesn’t matter).

In the second, we refuse to help the wizard, eat a bunch more answers and explanations of lore, fight with our own wife, whose consciousness is divided into two Twix sticks, and then we discover that the creation surpasses the creator and kills him. By putting a person into a polymer neural network, it turns out that a Soviet scientist has created a new form of human existence, which now wants to do the same with all of humanity.
