Children of cyberbanking and spiritual corruption.
Children of cyberpunk and spiritual corruption.

A very long time ago, one thought arose in my head.. rather, I just wondered one question.. Now, some chains have closed into one common row, which I want to share.
So let's think about the world 2077 and Russia 2019.
It would seem...
What's in common?
Cyberpunk (from the English cyberpunk) is a genre of science fiction that reflects the decline of human culture against the backdrop of technological progress.

And if you really think about it, there are no problems in Russia for the development and implementation of technical solutions.
If you want to do it, do it.

In any other country, for such inventions, one would have to pay a huge pile of fines and taxes.
Our people are brilliant—no one will argue about this.

However, there is another vector of technology development that moves completely separately.

A phone with “quantum encryption” was introduced in Russia.
A set of two devices and a server costs 30 million rubles.

Purely by chance on Amazon I found exactly the same phone, though not for 30 million, and for only 192 euros.

Technology is not the only vector of development for the country.

There is also cinema, which he constantly talks about BadComedian, literature and much more..
And in almost all areas of development, people do great things, but what the state supports — is done in the format of “failed experiments.”
The life of people and the life of the state are two opposite roads that do not intersect ideologically.

Great things are now written either alone or by small groups of like-minded people, but not with the support of large masses and the state apparatus.
People do not follow gubernatorial elections, do not discuss the political agenda, do not argue about the views and directions of the country’s development (as they do in The United States of America).

In the Russian Federation, the government has not changed for 20 years.
And everyone is happy with it. We always have a scapegoat to whom we can attribute all our troubles and mistakes. Why do we need good government? We know that no one will be good, but we have already become accustomed to the vices of this one.

You didn’t want to live in an era of change — okay, live in an era of stability, when absolutely nothing changes.
Layoffs
In America this is a completely normal practice and everyone takes it calmly. For an American, being fired is not a tragedy; rather, it is a new stage of life, an opportunity to express yourself and your best qualities. In Russia they are afraid of this, and everyone holds on to their jobs until the last moment.
- Get out!! — the general, suddenly blue and shaking, barked. — What, sir? — Chervyakov asked in a whisper, dying of horror.
- Get out!! — the general repeated, stamping his feet.
Something came off in Chervyakov’s stomach. Seeing nothing, hearing nothing, he backed away to the door, went out into the street and trudged... Having mechanically arrived home, without taking off his uniform, he lay down on the sofa and... died.
(Anton Pavlovich Chekhov “Death of an Official”)
Land of potentials
Compared to any Western country, if you come to Russia, this is a heavenly resort. No one does anything, no one is afraid of anyone.. The institution of reputation does not exist, so no one is afraid of losing it or going downhill.
And everyone is happy with everything. Everything is going according to plan, but no one knows what this plan is and no one wants to know.
Power doesn’t change, ideology doesn’t change — the only option is to change yourself.
And people begin to set their own goals and plans for life (not all people).

Universal (collective) WE is replaced by a much more idealess I.
When people work together and are driven by a common idea, they can still guide and coordinate each other, but when a person goes on a “solo voyage” to achieve his own goals, over time he loses his moral guidelines and begins to increasingly swim beyond the buoys of moral boundaries.

One of the signs of spiritual corruption is a situation when you cannot determine your attitude towards something, what is good and what is bad.

When a person does not understand where is good and where is evil, his own degeneration begins.
At the same time, culture, ethics, education are degrading, but the development of creative abilities and technological skills continues regardless of this.

Therefore, it seems to me that Russia is quite consciously moving towards cyberpunk and the interest in this project and concept is quite understandable.
