Tom and Jerry (2021)

Cartoona movie where you don't fully understand what it is and why it works!?

Yes, the creators placed 3D models in the world of humans, and Thomas and Jeremy know how to use phones. DJI dronesThey run their Instagram. TikTok is mentioned in the movie... and despite all this, the entire story fits into the standard framework of "The mouse is clever, the cat is stupid."

The detail of the world and the objects surrounding our heroes is striking.

Creating such scenes is not only a colossal task but also requires an inhuman attention to detail and a good sense of taste.

The film is built on a total reflection of the Tom and Jerry universe (in some moments it really brings tears to your eyes and it's nice to remember it).

References to the original series are present, and they make up almost 70% of the film.

Cartoonish cruelty is also present... and to be honest, there was one scene that was just... well, cruel.

It is clear that the creators have experienced and internalized that old spirit, and have brought it to life today.

Is this movie needed today?

YES! A wonderful movie for both the younger generation and for those who grew up with this cartoon.

and I'm even scared to talk about it, but the human world, where the heroes were integrated, it also has its own plot and it's quite goodYes, I can't believe I'm writing this, but there are the beginnings of sound ideas there. The plot is about Generation Z, whose representatives break social elevators and turn them into spaceports.

There are jokes about the excessive struggle for the rights of groups of people/animals, albeit very subtle and delicate, but still jokes.

And of course, there is a charming one there. Chloë Grace Moretz.

I won't say anything about character development; you'll see for yourself when you watch.

But this is definitely a good example of working with someone else's plot and universe; it shows understanding and respect. If only all adaptations and remakes were done like this...

Yes, there are quite a few characters familiar from childhood here :)

In general, go watch it)

I recommend that you have a good time.
