Twin Peaks - what is it?
Today I finally made up my mind and started writing this article.
I watched this series for almost 1.5 months due to breaks to “think about” the plot (and in general I tried to savor each episode).
I will go over the plot, my personal impressions, and express my thoughts regarding this masterpiece, but I will not be able to do without spoilers when explaining my point of view.
I decided to split the article into two parts.
In this (first) I’ll just tell you what Twin Peaks is and whether it’s worth watching. Everything here will be without spoilers and only in general terms. Well, let's talk about the genius of David Lynch (you can draw your own conclusions about this).
In the second part of the article, I will wildly spoiler and express my thoughts on this series and in general about life (I can’t do without it here either).

Why did I even start watching this series?
Grace Victoria Cox appears there occasionally 😄 that was enough for me at that time.
And of course, due to the fact that all this beauty is directed by the godlike David Lynch (you will see this for yourself).
I used to think:
"Probably this will be an ordinary, boring detective story for a couple of seasons. Stupid cops will run through the forest and look for a maniac. Well, perhaps they will add philosophy and mysticism. It will be a kind of “True Detective”, only in a different wrapper."
But to hell with that!
Now I understand that when watching this series you need to take all the stereotypes and shove them far into one place... And now I will explain why.
Well, for starters, all fans of the series “Lost” should definitely watch it. You will definitely get high.
But let's look at the features... why so... why it's interesting to watch.
Genre
The series constantly changes genres as the story progresses.
DETECTIVE, DRAMA, COMEDY, THRILLER, FANTASTIC...
I can't even list them all.
A kind of self-movement of form occurs.
Lynch is a great joker and knows how to play on nerves. But it is worth knowing that David Lynch is a creator and Twin Peaks is nothing more than his creation.
Evolution of the world. The logic of world development.
Good/evil depersonalized.
Man is opposed by force.
People are vessels, instruments in the hands of various forces.
There is a lot to say about this series... but let's go back to the beginning.
On April 8, 1990, the pilot version of the series was released.
In 1993, splits began to occur within the USSR... within the state, within families... Just keep this in mind if you haven’t watched the series yet. And those who have already watched it can imagine how strongly the series influenced the minds of people then.

And even now society is still divided... Crimea is ours / Crimea is not ours...
Therefore, plot-wise, it will be scary.
A person watching Twin Peaks experiences exactly 3 accompanying feelings:

3. and wild butthurt from the conflict of the first and second feelings
The author promises and says nothing.
Meet: picture Twin Peaks in the “Life” genre.
Now everything is unclear and boring, but someday everything will be clear and good. And a journey through the traditional classification of genres now takes place. Life has no specific genre.
Agree, “the genre of the series is life” sounds at least intriguing 😅
At the very least, it’s already interesting how it will all end. Although I didn't say a word about the plot of the series.
Cruelty
I would call another feature of the series... incomprehensible, irrational cruelty.
But here again everything is from life.. Sometimes it is not clear why a good person suddenly becomes mortally ill, and a bad person suddenly lives, eats shawarma and enjoys life; and another good person eats shawarma and dies...
In general, I think you understand. There is no logic here. Irrationality.
How good, but how scary.. and how nothing is clear.
There are many pieces in the series that seem to be simply taken out of context (yes, yes, yes, that’s exactly what I’m talking about).
What? For what? Why?
Suddenly they show us for 20 minutes how an atomic bomb explodes.
All these are not the biggest questions... you can find answers to them by watching the series.

Now a little about the structure of the series.
Three seasons tell us the same story.
The series came out from April 8, 1990 by June 10, 1991. (Two seasons)
There are more Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (Fire walk with me) (1992). Unfortunately, no one told me about this. I'm telling you. This is a VERY important part of the series. There you can get scared and understand something new (find clues, for example, to solving the mystery with that same girl, for example... ugh..)
The third season of Twin Peaks has been released May 21, 2017 — the last episode is out September 3, 2017.
27 YEARS have passed not only between seasons, but also within the series! The story is not over and continues. The heroes are the same.

But I want to come back and hook all the Lost fans.
Remember the second season? Remember the numbers? Remember white and black.. Well yes.. white and black wigwam / white and black smoke.
There will be something for you to draw parallels with.
But we will return to the numbers later.
I can’t tell you what it’s about, but I told you what it’s made of.
Well, to finally sum it up, I’ll tell you about one more feature that is in the series and fits in there with a bang!

Yes.
The killer stalks the victim.
Interesting?

A small disabled boy takes aim with a toy gun and actually kills.
Scary?
I think yes.
Well let's say..
You receive a black mark
Scary?
Yes. But it's corny 😏
But if you receive 5 orange seeds along with this black mark.
You will no longer be able to escape from this. These 5 orange seeds will take you anywhere.
The killer is the mottled ribbon. The sign of a killer is his redness. A mysterious sign - a man with a white face... Of course, it all comes from here...
It is this technique that gives the work wild interest from the audience.
The feature is simple: when something not scary (pink bunny ears) is placed within the framework of something scary (brutal murder).
It’s just something happening semantically that we didn’t expect.
Here is the water... and here is the well... Drink... and go down... The horse is the eyeball and its pupil.
I think everything is clear here.

Vladimir Vladimirovich really likes to name various numbers in his messages or, for example, on straight lines.
And even though these numbers may not always be correct... hearing these numbers is always reassuring.
As long as he speaks numbers, life becomes calmer.
Our world has become digital.
Numbers rule the world.
But they are completely meaningless.
This is what David Lynch reminds us of with horror.
